WELCOME TO ON THE OUTSIDE
WHO WE ARE
You may have heard of the expression “on the upside”, which is talking about a positive feeling or experience. For me, life is usually on the upside when I’m outside. This is the main idea behind our company, and it is our goal to make being outside a positive experience for everyone.
If everyone is going to enjoy the upside of the outdoors, that means everyone needs access to the outdoors. This is the challenge we are taking on as a company. Specifically, we are trying to give uninvolved youth and low-income families the resources they need to enjoy the outdoors. We need YOU to help us make this dream possible!
ON THE OUTSIDE SERVICES
It is our goal to make the outdoors accessible to everyone. We will do this by relying on the community for donations and fundraisers so that we can give back by providing free gear and activities. Popular activities like skiing are incredibly expensive, and many people can’t even afford to try them. Hopefully, with enough donated gear, everyone will get a chance to try anything they want outdoors. Trying new things can also be scary. Organizing events with the necessary equipment gives individuals in the community an easy outlet to try these new things without any extra costs or pressure.
GEAR
One of the main ways that On The Outside will provide for the community if by compiling gear to use. This will be available in a library like-system. You can find or borrow this gear either in-person or under the Gear and Events Icon above. To borrow, simply select what you need, provide your name and phone number, say how long you will need it, and then pick it up.

As a working mother of five, I rarely have the time or finances available to take my kids on trips in the outdoors. On the Outside provided the necessary time and resources needed to take the kids out on my own or let them go on their own adventure. This company is an asset I hope every community member will take advantage of.

On the Outside got my grandkids and their friends excited about the climbing. The trip this company organized to the Bend Rock Gym totally changed their mindset. Now, my grandkids can't wait to get back to climbing and are even asking to try new things outside. I love seeing them outside and off their electronics!

This winter, I wasn't even sure if my family and I were going to be able to ski because, even if we got passes, all of my kids had outgrown or outworn their gear. On the Outside managed to provide the donated skis and gear we needed. Now we are already to ski once the mountain opens up!!!
